Guide for Authors

The office provides editorial assistance, technical support for word processing programmes and support in the preparation of camera-ready documents for submission to journals or for presentations at conferences. It also provides graphical support for posters, books and other documents.

Only write-ups of research work carried out at the Centre (or partly prepared) can be considered for publication as an ICTP preprint or report.

ICTP authors

Authors wishing to submit their article(s) for publication as ICTP preprints or reports must do the following:

authorization form

  • Complete an authorization form. These forms can be collected from the Publications Office, EF Bldg, 1st floor, rooms 138-140, or from the group secretaries. It is also available in PDF format
  • Hand the authorization form together with a hard copy of your paper to a referee for authorization. The referee can be an ICTP senior member or the Organizer/Director of an activity
  • The signed authorization form plus a hard copy of your paper must be given to the Publications Office, for processing
  • All files should be sent, as attachments, to: Publications Office

Authors please note

The Publications Office requires the original source files to process preprints and reports. Large files should be compressed before sending.

The office handles files in TeX, LaTeX, RevTex, Harvmac TeX, Amstex. Word files are also accepted.

Please remember to forward also any personal style files or journal style files used to prepare your article. The Publications Office will take care of preparing the paper in the ICTP standard layout.

Journal submission

Please consult the "Instructions for Authors" of the journal you intend submitting to and prepare the paper accordingly. Seeing that most journals require electronic submission it is recommended that authors take care of the submission themselves.
